Dave Herman

  • Professional sports performance coach and elite tennis player, David Herman earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina College of Health. He began his training career in the early 90’s as the Director of the Sport Science Programs at Lake Nona’s legendary LGE Performance Center (Dr. Jim Loehr, Dr. Jack Groppel, Pat Etcheberry).  He also worked in association as the golf fitness trainer for the David Leadbetter Golf Academy before launching Athletes Training, Inc.
  • David’s areas of expertise include evaluating, designing, training, and implementing sport specific performance programs for professional and junior athletes. He has trained hundreds of professionals in many sports including golf, tennis, baseball, basketball, football, hockey, volleyball and watersports. David designs programs specific to each client’s goals using the Athletes Training methodology.  His clientele list includes an array of the most-notable sport professionals, elite juniors, as well as celebrities and executives.
  • As a pioneer in Golf Fitness, he has helped players to achieve multiple Men’s and Women’s Major Championships, PGA and LPGA tour Rookies of the Year, Youngest player to earn a PGA tour card, and many wins on the PGA and LPGA tours.
  • In Tennis, he has helped players to achieve multiple Wimbledon, US Open, Australian Open and French Open Championships. Dave and legendary doubles player Leander Paes will soon begin preparations for Leander’s 6th summer Olympic games to be played in London in 2012.
  • In 2000 with Ernie Els, he co-authored the Ernie Els’ Guide to Golf Fitness. In January of 2007, Dave and 2008 Master’s Champion Trevor Immelman created and designed a revolutionary golf-fitness band program which was showcased and released internationally at the 2007 PGA Show.
